Leana Kim is an award winning ceramist from South Korea who graduated from RMIT with honours. She was born in South Korea and currently lives and works in Melbourne, Australia.

Leana has been doing ceramics since 2001 and creating ceramic sculptures and functional works so far. She has participated in various solo/group exhibitions in both Australia and South Korea, including ‘Intertwined’ at Montsalvat in 2018, ‘NO WERK’ at Trocadero Art Space, and ‘Fresh’ at Craft Victoria in 2015.

 In 2004, Leana won the grand prize at ‘The Korea New Art Festival’ as well as being awarded the ‘Trudie Alfred Bequest Scholarship’ in Australia in 2014. Also in the same year, she was selected for ‘The 29th Gold Coast International Ceramic Art Award’ and ‘Gyeonggi International World Ceramic Biennale’ in South Korea. 

Since 2018, Leana has been teaching pottery for adults and school children also producing functional works to enlighten more people about the ceramic arts.
